Bible Reading 2022

The Word of God is Reality revealed to us. The real Reality where we are from. We need to study the Word of God, embed in our spirits, and then give life to the Word by acting upon it. This is also the way to build a deep relationship with the Holy Spirit.

We are excited to study the Word, and furthermore to encourage a culture of devoting time to His Word!

In summary:

  1. We will be reading 6 chapters per week (this is really not a lot and easy to keep up).
  2. It will be communicated on this group each Monday, so everyone is informed and can stay on track.
  3. We will share short, overview video clips to provide a synopsis of each bible book (this will not be in-depth but just overview for perspective).
  4. Today, we commence with John chapters 1-6.

Some guidelines to help you enjoy the full benefit from this bible study:

  1. Listen to the video clip released Mondays, to give the overview perspective regarding the book being studied.
  2. Read through the chapter for the day, in one go, as if you were reading a storybook.
  3. Read the same chapter a second time, now paying more attention to the meaning and putting into context what you’ve read.
  4. Read the chapter for a third time, this time much slower and with an intention to gain a deeper understanding, paying specific attention to verses that draw your attention.
  5. Ask yourself: “What are these verses showing me about the character and ability of God and/or my responsibility.”
  6. You can then also use cross-references to other verses that shed more light on the concepts shared.
  7. The idea is not quantity but more depth in the study. Sometimes, just closing your eyes after reading a verse and listening or praying and seeking His presence and revelation through that verse will let you go much deeper.
  8. Write your thoughts down in your bible study App or journal or group these thoughts together with similar thoughts.
  9. Try and memorise one verse from the chapter read for the day.

PS This group is open to others that you want to invite – friends, family, colleagues, or anyone you are discipling. To get others on this group will help you in your process of discipling.

May your fellowship with the Father, our Lord Jesus and those in the Body, grow in depth and strength, through communion with the Holy Spirit.
